Learn the beautiful art of modern calligraphy in my Intro to Brush Lettering workshop! In this course we’ll review the essential concepts of calligraphy, from exploring basic pen strokes to proper letterform construction with a brush pen. After the fundamentals are in place, we’ll delve into the lowercase alphabet. In addition, we’ll discuss ways how to hold your pen, control pressure levels, and correct posture & paper placement.

No prior experience or “good handwriting” is necessary! This workshop is for anyone interested in learning a new skill, in need of a refresher to brush up on their artistry (see what I did there), or would like to explore a new lettering style. For those hesitant left-handers out there, I’m a fellow left-handed calligrapher myself so I know your struggles. But don’t fear the art of calligraphy! There is definitely room for us at the table. I will show you the way.
